Medical treatments and our own compounded formulas, prescribed personally after an assessment.
Message us on WhatsAppAt DHI Panamá we have medical treatments and specialized protocols to address different causes of hair loss, hair weakening and androgenetic alopecia in men and women. The goal of medical treatment isn’t simply to “stop the shedding”: depending on the diagnosis, it can help prolong the growth phase, stimulate follicles that still retain activity, reduce progressive miniaturization and improve the density and thickness of the existing hair.
Within our protocols we offer oral and topical Minoxidil, oral Dutasteride, DHI Anti-Hair-Loss Shampoo and DHI Shampoo for Dandruff and Seborrhea. DHI Panamá also has its own compounded formulas registered with MINSA Panama, used according to each patient’s medical assessment and prescription.
There is no single hair medication that suits everyone. Before starting treatment, it’s important to determine the cause of the loss, assess the degree of hair miniaturization and establish whether the patient needs medication, regenerative therapies, a DHI hair transplant or a combination of treatments.
Minoxidil is one of the most widely used medications to stimulate hair growth and treat androgenetic alopecia. It can be part of a protocol for men and women who still have active follicles but show fine hair, miniaturization or loss of density. At DHI we offer oral Minoxidil (compounded formula) and topical Minoxidil.
Minoxidil doesn’t create new follicles where they’ve already disappeared: its greatest usefulness is in stimulating and preserving follicles that still retain the ability to produce hair. Results aren’t immediate and should be evaluated over several months of continuous use.
DHI oral Minoxidil is a compounded formula used within our protocols for certain patients. Unlike the topical form, it’s taken orally, so it must be prescribed after a medical assessment and requires professional follow-up. Because Minoxidil also has cardiovascular effects, it should not be used on your own: the dose and suitability of the treatment must be established by a physician.
Dutasteride is an inhibitor of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, responsible for converting part of the testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT plays a central role in androgenetic alopecia: over time it can cause certain follicles to progressively miniaturize.
In selected patients, Dutasteride aims to reduce the hormonal action responsible for miniaturization. It can help slow the progression of androgenetic alopecia, preserve existing hair for longer, reduce the miniaturization of susceptible follicles and complement Minoxidil and other treatments. Its use must be prescribed and supervised by a physician, as there are contraindications and possible adverse effects.
A specialized formula to complement medical treatments in patients with weakening or hair loss. It doesn’t replace treatments such as Minoxidil, Dutasteride, PRGFC, Mesotherapy or Exosomes when they’re indicated: it’s part of the comprehensive care of the scalp and existing hair.
A compounded formula aimed at patients with flaking, excess oil, irritation or seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. Scalp health is an important part of any hair-restoration program. It should be selected according to the diagnosis.
At DHI Panamá we don’t use the same treatment for everyone. Our protocols may incorporate DHI compounded formulas selected according to the diagnosis: DHI oral Minoxidil, DHI oral Dutasteride, DHI Anti-Hair-Loss Shampoo and DHI Shampoo for Dandruff and Seborrhea. According to DHI Panamá’s information, they are registered with MINSA Panama.
Hair loss can be related to androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, scalp disorders, hormonal factors, medications, illnesses or deficiencies, among other causes. That’s why, before recommending Minoxidil, Dutasteride, shampoos, PRGFC, Mesotherapy, Exosomes or a DHI hair transplant, we carry out an assessment to determine what’s happening and which treatment makes sense for each patient.
Medications require medical assessment and prescription. Efficacy, tolerance and response to treatment can vary from patient to patient.
For oral Minoxidil and oral Dutasteride, it's essential to have a medical assessment and prescription before starting treatment. Although some topical Minoxidil presentations may be sold without a prescription depending on their formulation, at DHI Panamá we recommend not starting any treatment without first identifying the cause of the alopecia. Dutasteride requires an especially careful evaluation because of its hormonal action, contraindications and possible adverse effects.
Yes. Minoxidil can be used in women and is one of the most widely used treatments for certain types of female hair loss. The topical form has established use for female-pattern loss, and the low-dose oral form is used in selected cases under assessment and follow-up. Concentration, presentation and frequency shouldn't be assumed to be the same for everyone: age, type of alopecia, blood pressure, other medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding must be considered before starting.
Minoxidil acts on the follicle's growth cycle, so it needs time. The first changes may be noticed after about 3 to 4 months of consistent use, and a more complete evaluation is usually done between 6 and 12 months. In the first weeks, some patients may experience a temporary increase in shedding. The treatment should be maintained as medically indicated to preserve the benefit.
They are specialized preparations used within our protocols to tailor treatment to each patient: DHI Oral Minoxidil, DHI Oral Dutasteride, DHI Anti-Hair-Loss Shampoo and DHI Shampoo for Dandruff and Seborrhea. They let the physician select the right option according to the type of alopecia, degree of loss, scalp condition, previous treatments and the patient's goals. They don't mean “a stronger product for everyone,” but specific treatments within a personalized plan.
