Restore your density and your confidence with the DHI technique: discreet, no scalpel, and no need to shave your head.
Message us on WhatsAppFemale hair loss rarely shows up as a receding hairline; the most common pattern is diffuse thinning, especially across the central part of the scalp. Its most frequent causes are female androgenetic alopecia, hormonal changes (pregnancy, postpartum, menopause), thyroid disorders, stress, certain medications and traction alopecia. Identifying the cause is the first step.
The DHI technique is especially suitable for women because it doesn't require shaving the whole head. The implanter makes it possible to implant follicle by follicle with full control of angle, direction and depth, achieving natural density while preserving your long hair. It's an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, with no scalpel and no sutures.
We understand discretion is everything. With the DHI technique the procedure can be done without shaving the whole head, so you can get back to your life naturally.
You're a good candidate if you have stable density loss, enough hair in the donor area and want to restore volume at the frontal hairline, the crown or the part line. During the assessment, Dr. Vlieg evaluates your case honestly.

Request an assessmentNot necessarily. In many patients, only a small section of the donor area is partially shaved and is later covered by the long hair. In selected cases, extraction with no visible shaving can also be considered. The right option depends on the number of follicles needed, hair length and density, the condition of the donor area and the area to be restored. The decision is made during the medical evaluation and can vary from one patient to another.
Yes, a well-planned hair transplant can produce a very natural result in women. The implanter used by DHI makes it possible to place each follicle controlling its depth, angle and direction, so the new hair integrates with the existing hair. Naturalness also depends on the frontal hairline design, graft distribution, hair characteristics, donor-area quality and the medical team's experience. Results aren't immediate: growth develops gradually and usually reaches maturity around 12 months.
In many cases, yes. Treatment depends on the cause of the loss, so a medical diagnosis must come first. Female hair loss can be related to androgenetic alopecia, hormonal changes, telogen effluvium, nutritional deficiencies, scalp conditions, medications or hairstyles that apply constant tension. Non-surgical alternatives may include topical treatments or prescription medication, laser therapy and complementary procedures with plasma or growth factors. DHI Panamá also offers PRGFC, hair mesotherapy and infrared laser therapy. Not every treatment is appropriate for every woman, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The choice should be made after evaluating the diagnosis, medical history and how the loss is progressing.
