What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
Platelet Rich Plasma is a safe and reliable hair growth stimulation treatment. It is a simple non-surgical treatment that is performed efficiently to minimise recovery time and maximise results. The primary use for Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is to organically stimulate newly implanted or inactive follicles into an active growth phase using growth factors from the blood supply. PRP not only stimulates implanted follicles but also strengthens existing follicles delaying and sometimes reversing the hair loss process.
PRP and How it Works
The blood supply contains red and white cells as well as platelets – it is these platelets that provide the growth factors. PRP works by separating the platelets from the other cells in plasma (blood supply) and the separated platelets and added back to the supply. PRP uses your own cells that will not be rejected by the immune system, the cells are isolated by spinning 50ml of blood in a centrifuge to extract the platelets that assist in recovery and tissue regeneration. These enriched platelets are then injected to the areas of hair loss or areas of newly implanted follicles to provide healthy natural results.
The treatment takes approximately 60 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia with 50ml of blood being drawn which is then spun using a centrifuge. The extracted concentrated platelets are then injected into the scalp, these platelets then naturally regenerate the health and condition of the scalp. The results of the treatment are achieved by the reactivation of the weak cells causing hair loss.
